Webhooks for Zapier, Make and n8n
Étape 1: Open the card
Go to "Integrations" and click set up on "Zapier · Make · n8n".
Étape 2: Create a webhook
Click "New webhook", enter the webhook URL (https) you get from Zapier, Make or n8n, and choose the events you want to receive.
Étape 3: Store your signing secret
Click "Save webhook". The signing secret is shown only once; keep it somewhere safe.
Étape 4: Test
Click test and check the "Delivery log" to see whether the message arrived.
Available events include: new conversation, new message, new lead, resolved conversation, completed call, call summary and booked appointment. If a delivery fails, Twilper automatically retries a few times.
API keys
Étape 1: Create a key
Go to "Integrations" → "API keys (actions)", give the key a name and choose its permissions.
Étape 2: Only choose the permissions you need
For example creating contacts and leads, adding messages and notes to conversations, or reading conversations.
Étape 3: Copy the key
Click "Create key". The key is shown only once.
Nothing is sent to customers through the API. Technical documentation is on the Developer API page: twilper.com/integrations/api.
Notifications in Slack
On the "Webhooks" page, enter a Slack incoming webhook URL. You then get a Slack message whenever a new chat starts. The same page also has the earlier webhooks for a new chat, an escalation or a new lead.
Connecting your own system
With the bot link card ("Connect your own system"), the assistant can look up information in your own system, such as an order status. You enter an endpoint URL and test the connection. This takes some technical knowledge; feel free to get in touch.
Bon à savoir
- Webhooks are signed, so you can verify that a message really comes from Twilper.
- Lost an API key or signing secret? Create a new one and revoke the old one.
- Your chat widget key is different from an API key for actions. The widget key is under "Settings" → "Installation".
