Any website

The widget is a small script that adds a chat button to your site. Visitors ask their question, the AI answers from your knowledge base and your team can take over in the inbox at any time.

Install

1Sign in to the dashboard and open Integrations → Other website. The code with your key (starting with tc_live_) is shown there.
2Paste the line just before </body> on every page, or in your site builder's footer code.
3Add your domain to the workspace. The widget only works on domains you have registered.

HTML

<script src="https://api.twilper.com/static/widget.js"
        data-api-key="tc_live_YOUR_KEY"
        data-api-base="https://api.twilper.com"
        async defer></script>

Where do I paste the code?

Wix: Settings → Custom Code → before </body>
Squarespace: Settings → Advanced → Code Injection → Footer
Webflow: Project Settings → Custom Code → Footer Code
WordPress / Shopify: use the plugin or app below

Optional: data-language="nl" fixes the widget language.

WordPress & WooCommerce

WordPress plugin

The plugin adds the widget to your site, keeps your knowledge base up to date with pages, posts and products (when you switch it on), and turns your WooCommerce store into the AI's own system: product search and advice, live prices and stock, price quotes and order status after checking the order number and email address or postcode. Every request from Twilper to your site is signed (HMAC-SHA256).

Install

1In WordPress go to Plugins → Add New Plugin, search for TwilperChat and click Install Now and then Activate (view on WordPress.org). Or download the zip (v2.0.1) and upload it via Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.
2Open Settings → TwilperChat and paste your widget key (tc_live_…, in the dashboard under Integrations). The widget is now on.
3In the dashboard under Integrations, create a sync key (tc_sync_…, shown once) and save it on the Connection tab. Then switch on Knowledge sync.
4WooCommerce: on the WooCommerce AI tools tab choose what the assistant may share and click Connect AI tools. Your site must use https.

Shopify

Shopify app and theme embed

TwilperChat is listed in the Shopify App Store. After installing, you switch the widget on with an app embed in your theme, no code needed. If installing through the app is not (yet) possible for your store, paste the script tag into your theme directly.

Through the Shopify app

1Open TwilperChat in the Shopify App Store and install the app.
2Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds and switch on TwilperChat Widget.
3You can load your store's products and pages into the knowledge base from the dashboard.
4Open the app in Shopify and, under AI tools for your store, click Connect AI tools: the assistant then searches your products live, quotes prices and (if you switch it on) gives order status after checking the order number and email address.

Manually in your theme

Online Store → Themes → Edit code → theme.liquid, paste the line just before </body>.

theme.liquid

<script src="https://api.twilper.com/static/widget.js"
        data-api-key="tc_live_YOUR_KEY"
        data-api-base="https://api.twilper.com"
        async defer></script>

For developers

Bot link: let the AI consult your own system

Your knowledge base knows what is on your website, but not where order 10452 is. With the bot link Twilper sends the customer's question to an endpoint on your server. Your system answers and the AI passes the answer on to the customer.

Read the specification Code samples

Phone and WhatsApp
The AI phone assistant and the WhatsApp AI ask your system first.
HMAC-SHA256
Every request is signed with a key only you and Twilper know.
Tools
Offer functions such as order_status; the phone AI calls them when needed.
Fails safe
No answer or an error? The built-in AI simply answers on its own.

Available

Knowledge base (RAG)

One knowledge base for every channel

The AI only answers from what is in your knowledge base. For every question Twilper looks up the best-matching passages and hands them to the AI. Website chat, WhatsApp and the phone AI use the same knowledge. In the chat, the sources used are shown below the answer.

Sources

Your website: via sitemap.xml or by following links (at setup)
Individual URLs and your own text
PDFs (up to 10 MB)
Bulk FAQ and CSV with questions and answers
Publicly shared Notion pages
WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify via plugin or app

Tips for good answers

Put prices in a clear table or list, with unit and VAT note
Write FAQs in your customers' words, one question per item
Keep opening hours, delivery times and return rules on one fixed page
Check ‘Unanswered questions’ weekly and add the answer right there

The number of documents in your knowledge base depends on your plan. For the phone, short and concrete sentences work best because the answer is spoken aloud.

Channels

Phone, WhatsApp, email and the app

Every channel arrives in the same shared inbox. The AI answers what it knows; your team takes over when needed.
