Scanning your website
Step 1: Open the Knowledge Base
Go to "Knowledge Base" in the menu and click "Scan Website".
Step 2: Enter your website address
Enter your website URL and click "Scan". Twilper finds your pages and reads up to 30 of them.
Step 3: Check the result
After "Scan completed!" you see how many pages and words were read. Each page is listed as a document, with its type and status.
Want to add a single page, such as your shipping terms? Use "+ URL" and click "Scrape".
Adding texts and FAQs
Step 1: Click "+ Text"
This opens the "Add Text" window.
Step 2: Add a title and paste your text
For example "Return policy" with the full explanation, or a list of questions and answers. Click "Add".
Step 3: Test the AI
Ask the question through the widget on your website and check that the answer is right.
PDFs and other files
Uploading files isn't available in the dashboard yet. Is information in a PDF, such as a price list or manual? Copy the text and add it with "+ Text". If the PDF is online on your website, you can also scan the page it's on.
Keeping your knowledge up to date
A scan captures your website as it is at that moment. You can't switch on automatic refreshing yourself yet. When you change your website, scan again, or delete the old document with "Delete" and add the new version.
- Using the WordPress plugin with a sync key? Then the plugin keeps your pages, posts and WooCommerce products in sync itself.
- Delete documents that are no longer correct, so the AI doesn't give outdated answers.
Unanswered questions
Couldn't the AI answer a question properly? It's listed under "Unanswered", sorted by how often it was asked.
Step 1: Open "Unanswered"
You see the question, how often it was asked and when it was last asked.
Step 2: Click "Answer"
Type the answer the assistant should give and click "Save answer".
Step 3: Done
The answer is added to your knowledge base as a document. Next time, the AI can answer the question. Remove nonsense or spam with "Delete" or "Spam".
Good to know
- How many documents you can add depends on your plan. At the limit, you'll see a notice with the option to upgrade.
- Short, clear texts per topic work better than one big document.
- Spell out opening hours, delivery times and prices; the AI doesn't make up anything that isn't in your knowledge base.
- Check "Unanswered" every week; the assistant keeps getting better.
